| Abstract: |
Drug actions are improved by new drug delivery system, like mucoadhesive system. this method remains in close contact with the absorption tissue, the membrane, releasing the drug at the action site resulting in improvement in both local and systemic effects. Oral route is that the most ancient furthermore as preferred by patient being convenient to require. However, peroral route has shortcomings like hepatic first pass metabolism and enzymatic degradation in GIT which may be a hindrance to the absorption of most proteins and peptides groups of medicine. The mucosa of the rima oris presents a formidable barrier to drug penetration, and one method of optimizing drug delivery is by the utilization of adhesive dosage forms and also the mucosa includes a rich blood supply and it's relatively permeable. Laminated devices are developed to attain sustained drug release |
